About the Authority

This authority was formed by the local jurisdictions under the Virginia Wireless Services Authorities Act to provide community owned, open access, open services, high-speed communication infrastructure for the area. Members serve four-year terms.

Appointments

The Rockbridge Area Network Authority (RANA) consists of one representative from:

• Buena Vista
• Lexington
• Rockbridge County
• Washington and Lee University

The fifth member is appointed by the other four, representing the corporate / business management sector.
