Events occur in downtown Lexington throughout the calendar year. Event organizers must apply for an event permit with the City and receive approval in order to effectuate an event. Many of these events, such as 5K runs, parades, and festivals require street closure. Friday, May 15, 2026 - 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

• Washington Street (between Lee Avenue and Nelson Street) will be closed.

Friday, May 22, 2026 at noon until Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

• Washington Street (between Lee Avenue and Nelson Street) will be closed

Monday, May 25, 2026 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

• Main Street (between Nelson and Washington Streets) will be closed.
• No parking on either side of Main Street (from the north end of the Gin Hotel to Washington Street)

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
